Royalton Helps Travelers Stay Fit on Vacation

Posted By : travelisswell/ 45 0

Royalton Luxury Resorts has expanded its All-In Luxury program to include fitness and wellness.

After finding that more and more guests placed an emphasis on health and wellness while on vacation, the resort company decided to enhance its all-inclusive experience to include a wide variety of classes taught by professional and certified instructors.

The new Royalton Fit program offers more than 500 fitness classes with nearly 120 each week at each of Royalton’s resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Saint Lucia.

Fitness classes are offered at every level and include popular fitness trends such as Aqua Fit, Cross Fit, TRX, cycling, yoga, Zumba and more. Guests can also take advantage of their resort setting, partaking in beach boot camps and sunrise yoga.

Royalton Fit was developed by George and Belinda Kiriakou, the resort company’s award-winning team of fitness and health experts.

George Kiriakou has more than 25 years of experience as a bodybuilder, a professional wrestler, a professional fighter, a fitness instructor and a fitness entrepreneur and now leads the sports and fitness program at Royalton Resorts.

Belinda Kiriakou is a fitness cover model and a weight loss and lifestyle coach as well as Canada’s Champion IFBB Pro Bikini Athlete. She focuses on strength training movements and yogic flows to complement higher intensity workouts that provide quicker recovery and effective muscle building.

Their most recent offering is the Boga Fit Mat classes at Royalton Riviera Cancun. The class was launched by the Kiriakous and uses a mat that floats on water, adding difficulty to yoga, Pilates and kickboxing.

Royalton’s fitness program will extend beyond the gym to its culinary offerings. The resorts are also introducing vegan options to all of its menus and dedicating a section of the buffet, Gourmet Marche, to include vegan items, as well as gluten-free and vegetarian options.   Learn More about Royalton Resorts.

Frontiers International Offers Yoga Retreats in Kenya

Posted By : travelisswell/ 47 0

In honor of National Yoga Day on June 21, Frontiers International Travel and Great Plains Conservation have announced two new Wild Studio Yoga retreats in Africa. These four-night retreats will take place on the edge of the Chyulu Hills in southern Kenya, where guests will enjoy sunrise and sunset meditation and yoga sessions with views across the wildlife-filled plains to Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak. Trips are scheduled for November 30 – December 4, 2018, and December 4 – 8, 2018. The yoga packages include internal flights, the yoga program, accommodations at ol Donyo Lodge, meals, drinks and activities. No single supplement charge applies.

Guests will enjoy luxury accommodations, guiding, service and cuisine at the ol Donyo Lodge. A member of both Relais & Chateaux and National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, the sustainable lodge offers seven suites built into the rock of surrounding volcanic lava flows, each with private plunge pools and rooftop star beds.

The retreat program will include sunrise yoga, workshops that further guests’ yoga knowledge, sunset meditation and/or restorative yoga practice. Sessions will be led by Binita Shah, a conservationist and yoga teacher who has been practicing for over 10 years. Shah currently runs Hatha yoga classes for adults as well as therapy yoga covering back pain, stress and anxiety. Each class is planned so that the student understands the benefits of yoga postures and walk away with new information.

In between these yoga sessions there will be adapted activities that the lodge normally offers, including silent, guided walking safaris, horse riding, cycling and exploration of lava tunnels. Day and night game drives are also available. Guests can add on a safari, gorilla trek or beach holiday in East Africa that will allow further exploration of the cultures, wildlife and landscapes of this part of the world.

Non yoga-participating partners are also welcome and can enjoy any of the lodge activities and can dip into or out of any of the activities the yoga group will be doing.

The program will redefine the ordinary yoga session, providing a fresh take on a timeless tradition by fusing together the ancient serenity of yoga with the beat of music. Select Hard Rock Hotels will also offer live, on-site yoga classes for those seeking to practice in a group atmosphere.

“As a yoga practitioner who also travels for a living, I am thrilled to provide a new wellness option to our guests, especially those who might not be able to hit the hotel gym, but still want to get a workout before going about their day,” said Nora Swire, senior director of marketing for Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos. “We look forward to leveraging the brand’s connection to music, vibe and energy, creating a differentiated, one-of-a-kind fitness experience for travelers across the globe.”

Appealing to the modern business or leisure traveler, the elements of Rock Om® aim to create an unparalleled wellness experience for guests.

The Importance of Wellness on a Vacation

Posted By : travelisswell/ 96 0

It’s getting harder and harder to make time for wellness in daily life. Demanding jobs and busy schedules leave little time for self-care. So if your clients are planning a much-needed vacation, why not inspire them to fit in a little “me time”?

Another reason to motivate your clients to enjoy some relaxation time on their vacation is to avoid the dreaded “I need a vacation from my vacation!” feeling. Planning a vacation, traveling there and then actually being on vacation can feel a little crazy. And while it’s great to get out and do things like boat cruises and sight-seeing, recommend a spa day to your clients so they can actually wind down and relax while they’re away.

Hotels and resorts are making it easier than ever for travelers to incorporate wellness into their vacations and there’s no better example of this than Beloved Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group.

The Beloved Playa Mujeres was recently named “Best All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico” by TripAdvisor and it’s easy to see why. Set in an oasis on the mainland sheltered by Isla Mujeres, Playa Mujeres feels wonderfully remote yet is conveniently only 25 minutes from the Cancun International Airport. Its award-winning Beloved Spa is surrounded by water, making it an island of relaxation, wellbeing and inner peace. Guests will experience total renewal in the spa suites created especially for couples, where private luxury and relaxation come together with a dedicated spa menu for couples full of experiences to share, connect and remember.

From April 28 to May 1, you can experience Beloved’s “A Beloved Life” wellness week, a week of total wellness that includes complimentary activities for all guests to enjoy like early morning meditation, different types of yoga or fitness activities, to rituals and workshops, focusing on culture, wellness and wellbeing.  Learn more about The Beloved Hotel.
